Education Sponsorship Program

Children should go to school, not work. For all of our students the Education Sponsorship Program is the only way they have to receive an education, nutritious food, and medical care. Because girls are particularly vulnerable if they are not in school, Heart2Heart is focusing on getting girl sponsorships until we reach 63% of total sponsorship. Click here to learn more.

Food and nutrition

Meals are a part of tuition for school, but Heart2Heart fills in the gaps:

  • Food for Home Program: We also supply basic food and necessities when students go home to their guardians on school holiday. This program provides cooking oil, maize, or sugar and other basic supplies to help ease the stress of food insecurity for the student's parent or guardian when their student returns home for a holiday; $30.00

  • Additional clothing: Tuition covers everything needed for school including a uniform and shoes. However when they go home to their guardians, home clothes are not always warm or even the right fit. Help a students have the necessary and proper clothes for home: $30.00

  • Additional Medical Care: Tuition covers basic medical care but sometimes children become very ill or breaks a bone. Whatever you can contribute to the Medical Care Fund is deeply appreciated.

Medicine and healthcare

Most children suffer from chronic Malaria. To prevent and treat this, we always keep our students supplied with mosquito nets and Malarial, diarrhea, cough, and ring worm medicine. $15 will buy a mosquito net and $50 will help keep each of these essential medicines stocked and available.

School Shoes

Ever try to keep a child in shoes? It’s a moving target. By the end of the school year, a student may go home with shoes in tatters. An additional pair of school shoes: $30.00

Agriculture

We are literally raising seed money. Some of our students will traditionally inherit a small piece of land. They need help buying seedling to demarcate their portion and prevent others from usurping their rights. To cultivate the land and purchase seeds and saplings to plant on their shamba (garden), we would like raise $350.00 to help them grow.
